Dr. Anderson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact (HEI) at McMaster University and an Adjunct Scientist in the division of Child Health Evaluative Sciences at the SickKids Research Institute. She holds a Master’s degree in epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Western Ontario and a PhD in Epidemiology from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto.Anderson’s primary area of research is population and public health with a focus on chronic disease prevention and modifiable determinants of health in early life. The methods used in her research include life-course epidemiology, survey design, population health interventions, and analysis of big data.  She is an investigator on multiple CIHR-funded projects related to obesity prevention. Dr. Anderson contributes to teaching and graduate student supervision in the Masters of Public Health (MPH) and Health Research Methods (HRM) programs at McMaster.

Dr. Mbuagbaw is a Research Methods Scientist in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He trained at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (FMBS) in Cameroon (MD; 2005); the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (MPH; 2009); and McMaster University (PhD in Health Research Methodology; 2014). He is an associate professor at McMaster University where he teaches courses in biostatistics and randomized trials; associate professor extraordinary of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Stellenbosch University; and research methods scientist in the Research Institute of St Joseph’s Health Care Hamilton (SJHH) where he provides methodological and statistical support for other researchers as the Director of the Biostatistics Unit. This includes research questions formulation, study design, data analysis and reporting. He is the principal investigator of numerous research projects covering a wide variety of research designs including evidence syntheses, randomized trials, mixed-methods studies, and qualitative studies. He also the co-Director of Cochrane Cameroon. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and technical reports for national and international institutions. His research interests are infectious diseases, mother and child health, mHealth, health systems strengthening and the intersection of these fields.

Dr. Alvarez is an experienced family/public health physician and Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact (HEI) at McMaster University. After completing her medical degree and family medicine residency at the University of Toledo in Ohio, she earned a master’s degree in public health through the Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health, and a PhD in Health Policy at McMaster University. She also holds a certificate in cognitive behavioural therapy (CMCBT).

Her research uses policy analysis and qualitative and mixed methods for applied knowledge translation, spanning the role of context in evidence informed decision making, public health topics, sustainable health behaviour change across the lifespan, and multidisciplinary care.

Dr. Tarride is the Chair of Heath Technology Management, Director of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis, Associate Professor of the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact (HEI), and Associate Member of the Department of Economics at McMaster University. Jean-Éric is also co-director of the Programs for Assessment of Technology in Health (PATH), Research Institute and faculty director of the Trial & Economic Modeling Methodology Program (TEMMP) at PATH. His research interests include development and application of new methods for health technology assessment and management, trail- and model-based economic evaluation of medical technologies and healthcare programs, burden of illness studies, and treatment of uncertainty in health technology assessments. Jean-Éric’s research is currently focused on improving medication prescribing-related outcomes for vulnerable elderly populations experiencing transitions in care.
